PLANNING & ZONING

     DEPARTMENT

The Planning & Zoning Department provides services regarding community development, land use, comprehensive planning, floodplain management, and geographic information systems.

All applications for building, electrical, plumbing, and floodplain development are reviewed and processed by Planning & Zoning.  This Department also handles all inquiries for land-use zoning and presents development proposals and requests for variance or re-zoning to the Planning & Zoning Commission. The department works with other city agencies to implement the goals, objectives and plans outlined in the City’s Comprehensive Development Plan.

Flooding & Drainage Problems!!!

If you have experienced any flooding or drainage problems during the recent storms in the city, please contact us by using our online form or by calling 662-227-3442.  During a storm, flooding problems can be reported to the Police Department by calling 662-226-1211.  If you encounter a flooded road or street, always remember:    Turn Around, Don't Drown!
